Centrifuge service

High rotational energy in a sealed chamber. Interlocks and balance are safety systems, not features.

Why us for this

Specialised, not general

Refrigerated centrifuges combine a refrigeration circuit with a high-speed drive, and problems in one are routinely blamed on the other.

Brands serviced

Thermo Fisher Scientific and NuAire centrifuge product lines.

Common faults

What usually goes wrong

Most of these are progressive. Caught early they are maintenance items; caught late they are emergencies.

Refrigeration not reaching set point

Common in refrigerated models under repeated back-to-back runs.

Excess vibration

Sometimes balance, sometimes bearings, occasionally a rotor that should be retired.

Speed inaccuracy

If the indicated speed and the real speed diverge, your protocol has quietly changed.

Lid interlock faults

A safety interlock that does not engage correctly takes the unit out of service until it does.

Chamber and seal condition

Corrosion and seal degradation are progressive and easy to overlook.

Service scope

What a visit covers

  • Refrigeration system diagnosis and service
  • Speed verification
  • Lid interlock and safety system testing
  • Rotor chamber and seal inspection
  • Drive and bearing assessment
Included with plans

Put this on a schedule

Reactive service means every fault arrives as an emergency. A preventive maintenance plan turns most of them into a line item on a calendar instead.

Questions

About centrifuges

It usually means the refrigeration circuit is losing capacity or airflow is restricted. It is a repairable fault and worth addressing early rather than working around.

Yes. Speed verification is part of a service visit on units where accuracy affects your protocol.
